Context Embedded in Experience and Relationship

WHOLE CONSCIOUS LEARNING AND PRACTICE

ONLINE LIVE DAY FRIDAY 9TH OCTOBER INCLUDES RECORDING

SUITABLE FOR STUDENTS, THERAPISTS AND QUALIFIED HELPING PROFESSIONALS

Includes day recording, slides, ondemand access for 365 days, primer recordings and CPD Certificate (10 hours including additional recorded material). This day is based on the book A New Introduction to Counselling and Psychotherapy and the pedagogy of the Wholeness Solution.

This is a participant didactic and experiential day for new students, therapists, supervisors, and tutors wanting to embed in themselves a whole model of experiencing and relationships.

The whole model recognises the dynamic interplay between inner, interpersonal, and contextual factors* in shaping experience, as well as how these dynamics are expressed in relationships and reflected in evolving curriculum, training, and practice.

* Contextual (WICKET) = worldviews, identities, lived contexts and cultures (individual, personal, structural), embodiment (patterns and experiences), and time, which may be socially normative or different and present barriers as well as opportunities

Imagine matters of social and personal context, normativity, diversity, and EDI/equity being held in consciousness as part of day-to-day learning, supervision, and tutoring (as per SCOPED requirements), rather than as separate concerns. This day is based on the book A New Introduction to Counselling and Psychotherapy and the pedagogy of the Wholeness Solution.

It aims to move the learning and practice of the profession (irrespective of theoretical orientation) towards a universal consideration of context by design rather than as an add-on. Without this, there is a risk of poorer student experiences, tutor stress, harm, and ultimately negative impacts on client outcomes, particularly for those with decentred contexts (WICKET) such as worldviews, mind–body experiences, identities, and cultures.

Quote: Reducing the Whole experience to DEI/diversity is a distortion of its attempt to represent the client's phenomenology within the therapeutic session" ~ Previn Karian
